He understands the notes; he expresses the feeling
Every word he sings, has such a deep meaning
A naturally beautiful voice
But passionate by choice
He teaches us swaras and sahityam galore
But at the same time, tells us to do what we adore
“Everything you do, give it all you’ve got!”
Uncle, what YOU give US, can never be bought
His name says it all
He makes us feel bright and lets us stand tall

This poem was written for my Carnatic music teacher's appreciation day. He is a wonderful teacher and a great role model to all of his students. I hope this poem expresses at least a little bit of the gratitude I feel!
